Since 1981, Feeding America (formerly Second Harvest Gleaners Food Bank) of West Michigan, Inc. has served as West Michigan's regional non-profit clearinghouse for saved, donated food on its way from the food industry to churches and charity agencies that assist needy people.
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
Hard Times Café is a grassroots empowerment organization that gives residents of the Heartside neighborhood and greater downtown area a forum to address local issues impacting their lives as well as the life of the area. The fourth Thursday of each month, Genesis helps with serving the evening meal, visiting with clients and cleaning up.
The Heartside Downtown Neighborhood Association is the democratic resident organization for the Heartside neighborhood and the downtown area. HDNA actively works to promote resident empowerment and create and protect a community environment that enhances the quality of life for all. The neighborhood association meets every month.
Kids Food Basket is a hunger relief agency in Grand Rapids, Michigan that provides insecure children with an evening meal each weekday. The children we serve attend schools where 80% or above of students live at or below the poverty level.
Safety Net is our church food pantry for members and friends. Items are provided by the congregation through monthly collections. Drop items off by the cart as you enter the sanctuary.
