The fourth annual Community Health & Wellness Fair will be held on March 6 from 10 am to 3 pm at Genesis United Methodist Church, 1601 Galbraith, in the Watermark Center. [View a video from 2009's event >]

“We have so many extraordinary natural products and holistic services available locally, but it can be difficult to find them,” says Dorothy Ward, event co-chair. “This is one way to bring them together for our community.”
 
Hands-on demonstrations, speakers and complimentary services will be available. Select services will cost a small fee, including ionic foot detoxification, thyroid functioning screening and heart rate variability. Espresso bar beverages and lunch catered by Marie Catrib’s restaurant will also be available for a nominal fee.
 
Proceeds from the event will be used to support community gardens in the greater Grand Rapids area.

Integrated Aromatic Science for Mind/Body/Spirit Health Connections
An expert in essential oils, Kathy Spohn, works with local surgeons and other medical professionals to help people recover faster and with less trauma using therapeutic grade essential oils. Emotional Release and Raindrop Techniques are part of her treatment approach. The plant oils are safe and effective, yet intricately designed to address the challenges of the body, mind and spirit. Kathy Spohn, FCCI, is a nationally known speaker, healing arts facilitator and certified instructor, teaching seminars across the country.
 
Dyslexia Retraining: Thinking Style, Learning Differences and Gifts of the Visual Think
Sandra McPhall, New Chapter Learning, talks about the characteristics, root cause and solutions for Dyslexia—one of the most misunderstood learning styles in today's educational landscape. Although most people associate Dyslexia with letter reversals and reading difficulties, Dyslexia encompasses a much larger umbrella of learning difficulties.
