FaithWorks 2010

April 17, 2010 - 8:00am

We’ll celebrate FaithWorks on Saturday, April 17 this year--with the entire church engaging in some kind of hands-on mission work. It's a powerful and joyful experience to serve God and community, side by side, on the same day. We're upping our goal to 200 registered participants this year.

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE? Invite and invest.
INVITE: Invite family and friends from out of town. Have a sleepover and invite them to church on mission Sunday the following day. Invite friends who haven't been to Genesis in awhile. Make it a reunion. This is a great invite opportunity.

SIGN UP TO SERVE!  Check our growing 2010 Mission Opportunities list below!

FORM YOUR OWN TEAM: Form a mission team with your colleagues at work, your neighbors, your teammates from lacrosse, football, track, soccer, cross country, or your other friends at school.
REGISTER A MISSION OPPORTUNITY: Support and showcase your favorite mission. Having a variety of mission projects to choose from is our goal. Family-friendly options, skilled labor, no special skills required, indoor, outdoor, are all great. If you've got a contact, use it! Registration forms are available on the Web [genesisumc.org] or at the Information Desk. Deadline for registering is Friday, March 12. Register your ministry opportunity >

2009 Recap

In 2009,125 Genesis members volunteered to work at 11 sites for our first annual Faith Works Mission Sunday (April 26). Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn't cooperate, so Crash's Landing and John Ball Zoo projects were cancelled. About 75 showed up to enjoy breakfast before heading to their missions. Many thanks to the team leaders and volunteers who made the Sunday a success! We are planning to offer even more mission opportunities next year for all age groups.
